2 Months

Papillon is 2 months old today.

She is now the queen of the crazy expressions.

With lots of smiles thrown into the mix.

Though there are still lots of furrowed eyebrows.

And an occasional ridiculous face.

Here she is with her Snoopy. Its hard to compare it to last month's picture since she was much more curled up then.

But she has gotten bigger. Her last official weigh in had her at 10 lbs 3 ounces. But that was some time ago. I suspect she is close to 11lbs now (if not more).

Papillon at 2 months....

...sleeps through the night. Who am I kidding. She has done that since day 1. But now am allowed to let her. She is typically asleep by 10pm and wakes herself up around 7am. I still get her up around 2am for a midnight meal, but it doesn't take long, and I don't mind it at all. She is fun to feed when she is half asleep.

....doesn't nap. At least not significantly. She'll sleep in the sling if we go out, or in the car seat if are driving a ways. But at home, naps are typically 20 -30 minutes max. Oh well.

...still likes to eat every 2-2.5 hours in the day time. Which is not a problem since we are now nursing pros (I have nursed her in the nosebleed seats at a baseball game, and while watching a goat-judging competition at the state fair, as well as in the car (parked, don't worry) when there was no time to run home).

....gets bored more easily. Before when she fussed it was because she was hungry, wet, or tired. Now she will often fuss when she needs a change of scenery or she just wants to talk to you.

....drools like a crazy kid. I think she does it for fun. She is blowing bubbles and slobbering all over her clothes.

...likes to wiggle in circles. If you lay her on her back, she starts kicking such that she rotates in one spot. She is often pointing in a different direction in the morning than she was when she went to bed.

....is wearing 0-3 month clothes. Perfectly appropriate. Though for some reason people often think she is a preemie. I am beginning to suspect that it is the sling that makes her look so small.

...is starting to feel and look more like a baby than a newborn. Her head control is getting better and better; and so she feels much studier when I am carrying her. A number of my friends had babies this week and looking at the pictures of their newborns, Papillon looks significantly older already!

Over all, month 2 has been much easier than month 1. I am getting used to being productive in short spurts between feeding her. She is really easy to take places (shopping, to church, etc) so that is not a problem. And she's pretty much adorable, so, yeah. It's quite fun.
